Hornet and Wasp Control - Ouch!

Wasps are a very common problem in Virginia and Harrisonburg is no exception. If you are seeing a lot of them around your home or business then they have made your home theirs as well. While they may build nests in areas that are visible to you, more often they get up under your shingles and make a nest in the soffit area of the structure where you will not be able to see the nests or even locate them if you try to. When we come out to control them, we use a mist blower to treat the entire soffit area of the structure with a residual chemical, concentrating on the specific entry point of the insects. When they come back from their foraging activity they land on the treated soffit, pick up the chemical on their feet and it eliminates the colony. Using this unique treatment method we have solved many wasp infestations other companies have not been able to solve, and many people employ this program year after year with outstanding results.

There are several species of hornets, while less common than wasps, exist in the mid south. Our use of the mist blower allows us to treat up to 40 feet up from the ground to kill colony members residing in nests up in trees. Removal of the nest is not necessary for control, and not a normal part of our control program.
